The "warm" waters of Lake Champlain are calling all brave souls willing to jump in to support a great cause. It's time for the 23rd annual Penguin Plunge, a fundraiser for Special Olympics Vermont, taking place on Saturday, February 3.

This event provides funding support to the organization, which serves over 1300 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout Vermont.

Teams from local businesses, service organizations and schools combine to bring out 1400 people willing to take the plunge.

NSB is participating in several ways:

• as a Silver Sponsor
• providing a flock of enthusiastic jumpers 
• a team of 30 volunteers will be on hand to manage the registration check-in process.

Northfield Savings Bank sponsored its first Penguin Plunge jumper in 2006. The bank became an official sponsor in 2010 and then officially took over the volunteer registration function in 2011.
