Northfield Savings Bank (NSB) participated in Dragonheart Vermont’s annual Lake Champlain Dragonboat Festival on Saturday August 6th in Burlington. The festival serves as Dragonheart Vermont’s largest fundraising event each year, with participating teams raising money in support of Dragonheart’s mission of empowering breast cancer survivors to become their best selves through the sport of dragon boating.

The 2023 Dragonboat Festival’s fundraising efforts also supported a Pledge Partner, the McClure Miller Respite House, a hospice and palliative care program located in Colchester, whose primary purpose is to provide end-of-life care for those facing a terminal diagnosis, but also to provide emotional and spiritual care to the loved ones of the patients in their care.

NSB has been a longtime supporter of Dragonheart Vermont and the Lake Champlain Dragonboat Festival and has had a participating team in many of the festivals throughout its existence. This year, NSB’s Team – Banchors Aweigh – took home the prize for the best-named team at the festival.
