Northfield Savings Bank (NSB) recently chose Millstone Trail Association (MTA) to receive a $1,000 grant, which the nonprofit will use to maintain its network of approximately 20-miles of multi-use trails in the Barre Town Forest and nearby private land.

The funds came through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Grants for New England Partnerships (GNP) program, under which eligible institutions chose a non-profit organization to receive the award. Northfield Savings Bank became eligible through its participation in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Community Development Advance program. Northfield Savings Bank was pleased to choose MTA as the recipient of these much-needed funds.

“We are completely volunteer driven and this generous grant will go a long way in furthering our programs, trail maintenance and outreach to the community,” said Pete Kopsco, the new President of MTA. “We can’t thank NSB enough.”
