I hope this message finds you well, perhaps taking advantage of the mid-summer days of August to get a break from the tough events of July. Since our last communication, we have been working closely with NSB customers impacted by flooding as they navigate the recovery process.

As shared in an earlier communication, NSB’s Montpelier branch suffered extensive damage, requiring full reconstruction of the interior space. Our NSB Facilities team and partners are well versed in completing successful projects (most recently in Richmond and Burlington). They have turned their attention fully to getting our operations in the Capital City back to as good as ever. 

While the rebuild is underway, an on-site mobile banking unit, (referred to as a bank-in-a-box) will serve as our temporary home at 100 State Street. The unit is scheduled for delivery this week. Once power is restored to the site, NSB’s team will prepare the temporary branch for use to allow our Community Banking staff to assist you with daily transactions and any other account needs. We are also expediting replacement of the exterior ATM for deposits and cash withdrawals. We anticipate having our services again available at the site by early September.

During this time, Montpelier staff have been assigned to other branch locations and are reaching out to many of our customers. Should you need to be in touch with a Community Banker, Mortgage Banker, or Commercial Banker, contact our Customer Support Department at 800-672-2274 (800-NSB-CASH).

While we prepare the mobile banking unit, here are other nearby options to conduct your banking:

• Barre Main Street, Northfield Main Street, Waterbury Main Street, and Waitsfield Mad River Green: Lobby and drive-up services. Full-service ATM. Open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Barre – Wall Street Complex:  Drive-up Service. Open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• ATM – Berlin Operations Center: Full-service ATM. (Note: this is not a branch location.)
