Message from NSB CEO

This is to update our customers and other community stakeholders about our status in the wake of the severe flooding event.

Tuesday we had four offices closed - Bethel, Barre Main Street, Montpelier State Street, and Waterbury Main Street. Today Bethel has reopened. We are expecting to reopen Waterbury in the next couple of days. We hope to reopen Barre by early next week sometime.

Montpelier will remain inaccessible while we determine our options. As have other properties throughout downtown, NSB sustained notable internal water intrusion and resulting damage. We have gotten an initial examination from inside and are in motion removing items of value. As we reopen Barre and Waterbury, depending on travel corridors being accessible, we will direct Montpelier customers needing onsite services to those locations. A note that our Barre Wall Street four-lane drive-up (no lobby service at that site) has remained open and is serving customers. Our Northfield Main Street office is also open; anyone traveling in that direction from Montpelier or other locales should ensure there is safe passage on a chosen route. We will be making decisions around branch services in Montpelier. Our assessment will include prospective shorter term and longer term measures. We remain fully committed to restoring these services as soon as we can prudently provide.

All other offices of NSB are open and providing the full range of services for which each facility is designed. All of our digital channels remain open. And our 1-800-NSB-CASH customer support center is continuing to assist all NSB customers.

The NSB incident response team has been on top of multiple details and is guiding recovery efforts, led by Chief Operating Officer Cheryl LaFrance and coordinated by SVP - Risk Management Melissa Neun. The rest of us on the management team and our hard-working teammates throughout the company are all busy with our respective roles. We have managed challenges together for years while keeping our core principles front and center as we fulfill our responsibilities to customers, staff, and communities.

We are forever inspired by the grit and resilience of our Vermont citizenry and our government officials directing support where it is most needed. We will stay on this and keep you informed as we go.

Be safe,

Tom
