NSB Foundation Celebrates Funding Impacts in Vermont
Central VT and Chittenden County - The Northfield Savings Bank Foundation (NSBF) invested $445,000 over the past two years between five impactful Vermont organizations: Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, Lund Family Center, Mercy Connections, Spectrum Youth and Family Services, and the Center for Financial Literacy at Champlain College. As these partnerships conclude their funding terms, NSBF celebrates the accomplishments of each organization.
“The NSB Foundation is proud to honor these five organizations for launching invaluable initiatives that have enriched our community offering services for education, at-risk youth, and financial literacy,” said Nicole Carignan, Chair of the NSBF Board of Directors. “Those of us serving on the Foundation Board are grateful to partner with each organization supporting the invaluable work in our community and see it as an investment in a brighter future for all. Together, we can make a difference that lasts for generations to come."
Over the last two years, NSB Foundation funding allowed these five organizations to: provide academic support for youth to succeed in high school and post-secondary education; strengthen Vermont families; help underserved Vermonters and New Americans on a path to business ownership; expand access to counseling services for more teens and young adults who experience mental health and substance abuse issues; and provide tuition assistance for Vermont educators to bring financial literacy training to high schools throughout the State.
“With the support of the Northfield Savings Bank Foundation, Lund has implemented the Strengthening Families Framework into all our Parent Child Center services. This framework allows our staff to better support families, collect valuable metrics, and improve outcomes,” said Kim Laroche, Associate Director of Parent Child Center Services at Lund. “With this strong foundation, Lund is better positioned to strengthen Vermont families so that children can thrive.”
“The generous donation from the Northfield Savings Bank Foundation was instrumental in helping us double the size of Riverstone Counseling, bringing critical support to teens and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and suicidality,” said Mark Redmond, Executive Director of Spectrum Youth and Family Services. “We are so grateful for this partnership.”
While these NSBF partnerships will conclude with the end of their funding terms, the Foundation looks forward to continuing its positive work in Vermont through soon-to-be-announced partners.
